René Ancinas
Chair & Chief Executive Officer

As Chair and CEO, René sets the long-term strategic vision and guides the overall direction of Port Blakely’s operations.
Since joining the company in 2005, René has held leadership roles in both the Forestry and Real Estate divisions, becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He was named CEO in 2010 and Chair of the Board in 2015. A fourth-generation descendant of Port Blakely’s founders, René played a pivotal role in establishing the Eddy Family Council and served as its founding President, helping shape a nationally recognized model for sustainable family business governance.
René is active on several community and industry boards, including the National Alliance of Forest Owners (NAFO), the Washington Roundtable, and is a member of the Tugboat Institute. He previously served on the boards of NatureBridge (Olympic), the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and as Chair of the Board of the Seattle Symphony.Â
He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and an Executive MBA from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. In his free time, René enjoys classical music, time on the water, and mountain adventures with his family.
