Climate Solutions

Forests at work for a healthier planet.

Because our products take decades to reach the market, we’ve always looked ahead, to the health of our forests and the future of our planet.

We manage our forests with the future in mind, knowing that every decision we make today carries forward. That’s how a family business reaches its sixth generation: by thinking beyond the moment.

Winston Creek Carbon Project

Located in southwest Washington, our 10,000-acre Winston Creek Carbon Project is a working forest designed to support climate goals. By extending harvest cycles 20 years beyond industry standards, we nearly double the amount of carbon stored in trees compared to conventional forestry. The carbon credits generated are sold on the voluntary market, enabling us to reinvest in the forest and sustain an ecosystem that will continue absorbing carbon for the next 40 years.

The Difference We Make

  • More Carbon Stored - Longer growth means more carbon is captured and kept in the forest.
  • Habitat Benefits - Extended rotations support more diverse plant and animal life.
  • Carbon Credits with Purpose - Added carbon is validated and sold on the offset market to support real climate solutions.
  • Optimized Wood Growth - Longer cycles ultimately yield more wood while preserving ecosystem health.

New Zealand Carbon Forests

Carbon forestry is an important part of how we care for forests in New Zealand. Since 2010, we’ve registered eligible forestlands in the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ ETS), which helps us align our work with the country’s climate goals.

These carbon credits recognize the carbon our forests store and support both environmental and economic stability. By including carbon forestry in our day-to-day operations, we help lower emissions and protect the land for the future.
