Last week, a little extra pink could be spotted across Port Blakely offices, forests, and Teams channels as employees in New Zealand and the U.S. came together to recognize Pink Shirt Day.

With help from our Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Alliance teams in both New Zealand and the U.S., we took part in Pink Shirt Day, a global movement for kindness, inclusion, and standing up to bullying. The event began in Canada then New Zealand almost twenty years ago and now brings people together around the world to support one another and help people feel supported and included.

At Port Blakely, it was about more than just wearing pink. Forestry crews wore bright pink high-vis vests out on the sites while office teams gathered for group photos. Across the company, people joined together to show support and remind each other that everyone should feel like they belong.

Besides raising awareness, Port Blakely also made donations to local organizations focused on mental health and antibullying, supporting the important work happening in our communities.

Pink Shirt Day is a reminder that a positive culture is built through small everyday actions that help people feel supported.

Thank you to everyone who joined in, shared photos and wore pink. You help make Port Blakely a place where people can be themselves and look out for each other.
