Tree Identification

Through a video partnership with the Washington Forest Protection Association, students will learn to identify five native Pacific Northwest trees, both coniferous and deciduous, by exploring their unique structures and differences.

Age of a Tree

Can you tell how many years old a tree may be? Students will learn the life cycle of trees, how trees build mass, and how to determine the age of a tree by watching the Washington Forest Protection Association video. 

Layers of a Forest

Students will explore the four layers of the Pacific Temperate Rainforest through drawing, labeling, storytelling, and a video tour from the Washington Forest Protection Association.

Wildlife Detective

What clues do animals leave behind? By watching the Washington Forest Protection Association Wildlife Detective video, students will learn about Pacific Northwest wildlife species, their adaptations and how to find evidence of them.
