Gareth Waugh

As President of US Forestry, Gareth Waugh leads Port Blakely’s Washington and Oregon forest operations, overseeing strategy, land management, and the production of sustainable forest products across its U.S. timberlands.

Since joining the company in 2000, Gareth has held a variety of leadership roles across Port Blakely’s U.S. and New Zealand operations. He assumed the role of President in January 2026, following his tenure as Vice President of US Forestry.

With more than 25 years at Port Blakely – including experience in both the United States and his native New Zealand – Gareth brings a global perspective and a deep commitment to responsible land stewardship. His leadership reflects a balance of ecological integrity and business performance, aligned with Port Blakely’s mission to cultivate a healthy world for future generations.

Gareth holds degrees in Forestry Science and Commerce from the University of Canterbury, an MBA from the University of Washington, and is a graduate of the AgForestry Leadership Program.
