Andrew Cocking will assume the role of Managing Director of Port Blakely Ltd., New Zealand Forestry, effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Phil Taylor, who will retire on June 30, 2026, after leading the New Zealand business for 20 years.

Andrew joined Port Blakely in 1997 and has advanced through progressive leadership roles across the organization, most recently serving as General Manager Forestry responsible for the company’s New Zealand forestry operations. Throughout his tenure, he has built deep operational expertise and strong industry relationships, positioning him well to guide the business into its next chapter.

“Andrew’s leadership, depth of experience, and long-standing commitment to our New Zealand business make him exceptionally well suited for this role,” said Mike Warjone, CEO of Port Blakely. “He understands our operations, our people, and our long-term vision, and we’re confident in his ability to guide the business forward. We’re grateful to Andrew for stepping into this role and for his willingness to help shape the next chapter of our New Zealand organization.”

“I’m honoured to step into this role and continue our commitment to New Zealand forestry,” Andrew said. “Over the course of my career at Port Blakely, I’ve seen firsthand the care and long-term thinking that guide how we manage our forests and support our people. I look forward to building on that foundation and continuing the strong momentum of our New Zealand business.”

Port Blakely has operated in New Zealand since 1994 and manages more than 35,000 hectares of sustainably certified forestland nationwide. As a family-owned forestry company with more than 160 years of history, Port Blakely’s approach is grounded in long-term stewardship and generational responsibility. The New Zealand business remains central to the company’s global commitment to responsible forestry and innovation.

Phil Taylor has led the New Zealand business since 2006, helping shape its growth and reinforcing a culture grounded in integrity, resilience, and industry leadership. To support a smooth transition, Phil will remain actively involved through June 2026.

“We’re deeply grateful for Phil’s leadership over the past two decades,” Warjone added. “He has helped build a strong foundation for our New Zealand operations and leaves the business well positioned for the future.”
