HUMAN RESOURCES EXECUTIVE LIZ MARZOLF JOINS PORT BLAKELY HR VETERAN TO DRIVE COMPANY’S PEOPLE STRATEGY

Seattle, WA – Port Blakely has announced Liz Marzolf has joined the Seattle-based sustainable forest products company as Vice President, People.

Marzolf brings a strong track record leading high-performing teams and developing people through various executive-level human resources and organization and talent positions in her 12-years at Starbucks and most recently at WeWork. She has also developed her own successful consulting business, providing coaching and organizational development support for a broad spectrum of clients in both business and education.

“Liz is an exceptional leader who brings not only the right experience and skills to drive our people strategy, but also a commitment to investing in and developing people to help organizations deliver on their business goals,” said René Ancinas, Chairman and CEO of Port Blakely, a 150-year-old, family-owned company. “We are fortunate to welcome Liz to our leadership team to grow our people programs and ensure we continue to be an employer of choice, not only in our industry but in every community in which we operate.”

Throughout her career, Marzolf has sought out organizations committed to building and supporting effective leaders and teams, and to creating inclusive environments and employee experiences where people, cultures and workplaces can flourish. “I have always been drawn to values-based organizations and roles that put people first. What struck me about Port Blakely was the commitment to working together to make things better, not just from a business or sustainability perspective, but also for employees, the family owners and the community,” she said. “The opportunity to learn from and contribute toward the continued success of a storied organization such as Port Blakely is a career gift.”

A life-long community volunteer, she currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Seattle Girls' School and as a member of the Advisory Council of The Mountaineers. She holds a PhD in Educational Leadership and an MEd in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington, and a BA in Neuroscience from Mount Holyoke College.
