Port Blakely NZ Receives National Safety Award
Our New Zealand Forestry team recognized at the NZ Primary Industry awards
Port Blakely was recently honored at the Ministry for Primary Industries’ Good Employer Awards, recognizing the company as a national leader in health and safety in the forestry sector and beyond.
“We are thrilled and honored to have received the Safe and Healthy Work Environment Award,” said Port Blakely Managing Director, Phil Taylor. “It’s not only a recognition of our commitment to the wellbeing of our people, but a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, including the many outstanding contractors we partner with to ensure the safety of our forests.”
Port Blakely’s commitment to the health and safety of our people – not just employees, but their families, contractors, and community stakeholders – is not just a lofty goal, it’s a business imperative. The company’s holistic approach to wellbeing focuses not only on physical safety, but also the emotional and financial health of our team. From an industry-leading workplace safety and training program to benefits and initiatives designed to support the success of each person we touch, Port Blakely’s New Zealand Forestry team works every day to achieve our company’s core purpose to cultivate a healthy world.
“Our success comes from the passion and commitment of our people, whether they be employees or contractors,” said Zac Robinson, Port Blakely Health, Safety and Environment Manager. “This is only possible because our people have embraced what we are trying to achieve, so vital in turning good intentions into real results.”
Port Blakely joins others in the forestry industry in focusing on creating a strong health and safety culture. Of the four awards given by the Ministry of Primary Industries, three forestry companies were recognized for their work.
